Cooper Studios first project was the launch of our Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign. The success of this allowed us to afford the rental of a top floor storage room within the CIC Empty Shop in the heart of Durham. In this space we housed 25 artists, each with a personal 3x3m space and access to a constant supply or materials and canvas'.

From this base and workshop we also took the opportunity to launch our own productions. We forayed into immersive theatre and built a world across three venues in Durham totalling 7 sets all designed and built in house to the theme of a Dystopic Future. The show was a sell out and ran for 5 nights and emphasised that Cooper Studios' place in the creative sector was not solely art and reflected the interests and talents of the collective into film making, acting, design and photography.

The year was a successful experiment into providing affordable art space in a city centre but as designed the pop up closed its doors and handed back the space to Empty Shop in the summer of 2015 as our funding campaign drew to an end after ending the year on a high with the success of the whole studios exhibition EXHIBIT C generously hosted in the gallery space of Empty Shop.
